Shepreth - October 2019

Confession time. It's been way too long since I last visited Shepreth Wildlife Park. I made up for it the other day and here is the evidence.

There are no pictures of bats because my flash would have disturbed them. Otherwise all is as I saw.

May the peace of pandas descend on you and the breath of bat beats grant you wings.

Late Summer to Early Autumn

October seems very autumnal at present, so here are some photos to remind you of the joys of late summer and the early autumn when things felt warmer and dryer. I admit there is some repetition in terms of subject matter, but, to my mind, you can never have too many birds and sometimes they demand you take their photo to show off every aspect of their plumage. Also, during September I had a garden full off butterflies taking their fill of my ripening figs. How could I not take almost as many photos as there were butterflies?

Dead Certainty

Thursday, 3rd October 2019 was National Poetry Day in the UK. The theme of the day was "Truth". As a member of the South Cambridgeshire Poetry Stanza, I was asked to produce an illustrated poem on the subject of "Truth" for an art/poetry display in a pub in the area. I chose to illustrate a poem of mine called "Dead Certainty", which has been published in a variety of locations. The "illustrations" were my own photos. This is the image that resulted.
