I definitely saw buzzards and red kites, plus magpies and pigeons and a squirrel, but yet again, no photos were taken, or those that were, were not up to it. Oh well...

I realise that size does not matter, male friends have been telling me that for years, but I allowed myself to have lens-envy when I saw all the photographers with mammoth lenses in the hides at RSPB Fowlmere. Their photographs must be something to see, but this is a selection of my photographs as taken with my decidedly small telephoto lens during an April visit to Fowlmere. Photographically speaking, of course, there will be many better bird photos out there, but you do what you can with what you've got.
Some photos did, however, involve damage to the photographer (make a note: kneeling on baby nettles in leggings is a bad idea...)
