Light in Barkway

This post is a bit of a deviation from my norm. Yes there's a picture and yes, there's words, but basically I'm making this post because the guys over at Light are promoting a new camera, the L16 Compact Camera (which will be available later this year), and as part of the promotion, which they are calling the Vantage Point Project, they have been inviting photographers to " post on your blog... your top photograph from your favorite location to shoot. Maybe it’s a unique spot in your hometown, or an image captured on one of your awesome travel experiences. As a start-up with a brand new compact camera, we’d also love to see how your equipment played a role in getting that great shot."

So, I'm not sure this is my top photograph, but it's one of my most recent ones and it's of the charming village of Barkway in North Hertfordshire, which features quite often in my photos.

I was actually taking photographs of Daffodils opposite these houses when I turned round 180 degrees and decided to capture the street behind me. The photo was taken on my Canon EOS 100D (which I am seriously in love with) and because I had been using a telephoto lens to get the daffodil shots, this picture was also taken with the Canon EFS 55-250mm lens.

I don't get anything from Light for making this post (and I've never used their new camera), but they have promised to post this photo on Pinterest.

Should you be interested in the daffodil shots I was taking, here are a couple of them too:
